This essay was published in the University for the Creative Arts Annual Research Journal in 2011. It was written for a non-specialist readership, hence the explanatory information at the beginning about the Super 8 format. Please click on the link to access the text.
Link to recording of my talk with Carmen Billows, the curator of my show Zöetrope, at London Gallery West, University of Westminster, Harrow campus, held on April 28th, 2015. Apologies for background noise: the gallery is adjacent to the foyer cum student cafe. https://vimeo.com/127620807
This short essay was written in about 2008 and has been languishing unpublished ever since. This essay was commissioned by Media City Film Festival, Windsor, Ontario and was originally published in abbreviated form in Sequence journal issue no.1, published by No.w.here, 2010.
I have decided to post a number of previously unpublished essays, or ones that have been previously published, but in significantly abbreviated form. Medium Practices, posted below, is the first of these. More will follow when I have gathered the images together for them. Click on the title to open as PDF.
