Correspondences, 16mm colour film, silent, 16 minutes, 2011. Correspondences is a film made from a set of four paintings by Angela Allen, each of which is based on the three complementary colour combinations plus one black and white pair. The film’s structure is strictly derived from that of the paintings, which are cellular and based on a 14 x 14 grid. The film is made frame by frame in planned single-frame sequences.
